Fill the drum about three quarters full — clothes need room to move to get clean.

You should be able to fit a flat hand into the gap at the top of the drum.

Overloading means poor cleaning, poor rinsing and strain on the machine.

Underloading wastes water and lets items twist and crease.
- 5
Bulky items like duvets go in alone.
