Fabric softener & dryer sheets
Steps
- 1
Softener coats the fibres. Never use it on towels, sportswear or microfibre — it kills absorbency and grip.
- 2
Skip it on flame-resistant children's sleepwear.
- 3
Dryer sheets reduce static but leave residue on the lint filter — wash the filter with soap and water monthly.
- 4
White vinegar in the rinse is a safer natural softener and rinses out detergent too.
- 5
Never pour softener straight onto clothes; use the dispenser.
