Hard floors vs. wall-to-wall carpet
Photo stepVideo laterAudio matters
Steps
- 1
Identify the floor first: sealed wood, laminate, vinyl, tile or stone — each has its own cleaner.
- 2
Wood and laminate: barely damp only. Flat-head mop with spray bottle, never a bucket.
- 3
Tile and vinyl: twist mop and bucket, mopping along the grout lines.
- 4
Natural stone: pH-neutral stone cleaner only — no vinegar, no acid.
- 5
Wall-to-wall carpet: crevice tool around the perimeter, then W-pattern with the correct floor head, finishing at the door.
