Steps

   Vacuum the top with the floor tool, working in a W-pattern.

   Fold the rug back and vacuum the floor underneath and the rug's back side.

   Run the dust brush around the fringe or bound edge instead of the beater bar.

4. 4

   Spot-treat marks: blot with a damp cloth from the outside of the stain inwards, never scrub.

5. 5

   Lay the rug flat and straighten the corners.

Never beat a beater bar over a fringe — it shreds it. Brush attachment only.
