Steps

   Cloths: general microfibre for surfaces, flat-weave for glass and stainless, cleaning cloths for floors. Keep them in separate bags.

   Brushes: cleaning toothbrush for grout and corners, soft brush for upholstery, bowl brush for the toilet only.

   Mops: flat-head with washable pads for wood and laminate, twist mop and bucket for tile, vinyl and stone.

   Vacuum attachments — crevice tool for edges and skirting; dust brush for blinds, lampshades and rug edges; upholstery tool for sofas and mattresses; correct floor head for carpet vs. hard floor.

   Also carry: spray bottles, paper towels, gloves, bin liners, a squeegee and a scraper.

   Check every tool at the end of the job — a broken tool found on site costs you time.
