Technique
Ice maker & fridge odour fixes
Steps
- 1
Bin old ice — it absorbs freezer smells and tastes stale.
- 2
Wash the ice bin in warm soapy water, rinse and dry fully before it goes back.
- 3
Wipe the ice chute and dispenser with a damp cloth, then dry.
- 4
Odour: fit a fresh open box of baking soda at the back, and remove the culprit food first.
- 5
Bad smell that will not go: wipe the interior with a vinegar-water solution, then baking soda, and leave the door open ten minutes.
